The War Memorial Library in Hudson is a non-profit registered charity providing a subscription library of printed and digital materials, primarily in the English language, to the residents of Hudson, Quebec and surrounding communities.Operated by volunteers, the Library is self-financing through membership fees, donations and fund raising activities. The Library in turn donates, to local charities, funds in excess of its own needs.The building and the Library serve as a memorial to those in Hudson who served in the Canadian Armed Forces.

The Write Stuff - Sally Rooney

Sally Rooney was born and brought up in Castlebar, Ireland and studied English and American Literature at Trinity College, Dublin. Her debut novel Conversations with Friends was published in 2017, and the library has just acquired her latest novel Normal People. Connell and Marianne are two very different teenagers who go to Trinity College, and Marianne although the quieter of the two, adjusts to unversity life easier. The novel explores class, first love and the complexities of family and friendships. Normal People was nominated for the 2018 Man Booker Prize and won Irish Novel of the Year, the same year.
