The War Memorial Library in Hudson is a non-profit registered charity providing a subscription library of printed and digital materials, primarily in the English language, to the residents of Hudson, Quebec and surrounding communities.Operated by volunteers, the Library is self-financing through membership fees, donations and fund raising activities. The Library in turn donates, to local charities, funds in excess of its own needs.The building and the Library serve as a memorial to those in Hudson who served in the Canadian Armed Forces.

The Write Stuff - Lisa Moore



Lisa Moore, a Canadian writer, is the bestselling author of the novels February (2010), longlisted for the Man Booker Prize and winner of CBC's Canada Reads competition, and Alligator (2006), which was a finalist for the Scotiabank Giller Prize. Her third novel, Caught, was published in June 2013 and shortlisted for the Scotiabank Giller prize.
Moore grew up on the outskirts of St. John's, Newfoundland, and still makes her home there. Although she had intended to follow a career in the visual arts, she now writes full time.

Murker Ink - Arnaldur Indriðason

Arnaldur Indriðason was born in Reykjavík in 1961, the son of an Icelandic author. He graduated with a degree in history from the University of Iceland in 1996 and worked for many years as a journalist and critic before writing novels. His first book, Sons of Dust, came out in 1997, the first in the series with Detective Erlendur. The series now includes 13 novels.
Indriðason is considered one of the most popular writers in Iceland in recent years. His books have been published in 26 countries and translated into at least 21 languages.
Indriðason lives in Reykjavík with his family. The library recently acquired a couple of his books. Click here to learn more about him.
