The War Memorial Library in Hudson is a non-profit registered charity providing a subscription library of printed and digital materials, primarily in the English language, to the residents of Hudson, Quebec and surrounding communities.Operated by volunteers, the Library is self-financing through membership fees, donations and fund raising activities. The Library in turn donates, to local charities, funds in excess of its own needs.The building and the Library serve as a memorial to those in Hudson who served in the Canadian Armed Forces.

The Write Stuff - Diane Chamberlain


Diane Chamberlain is the author of 22 novels published in more than eleven languages. Prior to her writing career, she was a psychotherapist in private practice in Virginia. Chamberlain’s background in psychology as well as her work in hospitals has given her a keen interest in understanding the way people tick.  She likes to write complex stories about relationships, redemption and forgiveness with a touch of mystery and suspense.
Chamberlain lives in North Carolina with her significant other, photographer John Pagliuca, and her shelties.

Hudson Box Office (HBO) - Top of the Lake

The creation of Jane Campion (An Angel at My Table; The Piano), it is at times unnervingly focused on the New Zealand landscape. The main setting is Laketop, a very remote town in southern New Zealand where the environment presents a gorgeous lake where one expects a mountain. It looks stunning, idyllic. And the point, from the beginning, is that this lovely place seethes with corruption, horror and hatred.
The seven-part drama approaches the core story in a sideways manner. First we meet the 12-year-old girl Tui (Jacqueline Joe), who walks into the lake, apparently intent on suicide. She’s rescued and it emerges she’s pregnant.
Into the picture comes Robin (Elisabeth Moss), a young police detective who grew up in the area and is now back, visiting her sick mother. She specializes in crimes against women and children and is corralled into helping out with the case of Tui. More...

Murder Ink - Linda Castillo


Linda Castillo is the New York Times bestselling author of the Kate Burkholder novels, including Sworn to Silence, Pray for Silence and Breaking Silence, crime thrillers set in Amish country. Her debut thriller, Sworn to Silence, was recently adapted into a two-hour original movie titled An Amish Murder.
Besides writing, Castillo’s other passion is horses, particularly her Appaloosa, George. She lives in Texas with her husband and is currently at work on her next novel featuring Chief of Police Kate Burkholder.
