The War Memorial Library in Hudson is a non-profit registered charity providing a subscription library of printed and digital materials, primarily in the English language, to the residents of Hudson, Quebec and surrounding communities.Operated by volunteers, the Library is self-financing through membership fees, donations and fund raising activities. The Library in turn donates, to local charities, funds in excess of its own needs.The building and the Library serve as a memorial to those in Hudson who served in the Canadian Armed Forces.

The Write Stuff - Helen Oyeyemi

Multi-award winning author Helen Oyeyemi was born in Nigeria in 1984 and brought up in the UK. She studied social and political sciences at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge University, and wrote her first novel The Icarus Girl while studying for her A levels. The library has just acquired her latest novel What is not yours is not yours. This enchanting collection of intertwined stories is cleverly built around the idea of keys, literal and metaphorical. The keys to a house, a heart and a secret unlock elements of her characters' lives, and span multiple times and landscapes. Hudson Box Office (HBO) - The Bridge

The Bridge is a Scandinavian noir crime television series created and written by Hans Rosenfeldt. It was jointly created and financed by a Swedish and a Danish television company. The first series begins with the discovery of a dead body exactly on the centre of the Oresund Bridge which links Malmo with Copenhagen, necessitating a joint investigation. The success of the series has led to several adaptations in the U.K. and the U.S. to name a few. The library has just acquired the first series. For more details click here.

Murder Ink - Denis Coupal


Denis Coupal is a Montreal writer, actor, multi-disciplinary artist and business strategist. His feature-length screenplays have been funded by The FUND (Foundation to Underwrite New Drama for Pay Television) and SODEC. He won Honourable Mention in the 2011 Quebec Writing Competition for his short story Brand Loyalty which was then published in Minority Reports.
Blindshot is his first thriller.
