The War Memorial Library in Hudson is a non-profit registered charity providing a subscription library of printed and digital materials, primarily in the English language, to the residents of Hudson, Quebec and surrounding communities.Operated by volunteers, the Library is self-financing through membership fees, donations and fund raising activities. The Library in turn donates, to local charities, funds in excess of its own needs.The building and the Library serve as a memorial to those in Hudson who served in the Canadian Armed Forces.

Free iPad Instruction

The War Memorial Library is pleased to offer its members, free of charge, an opportunity to help you explore and extend the use of your iPad taught by an experienced adult instructor. 
We will meet at the library Wednesday afternoons at 2pm for an hour or so, starting on May 4, 2016.  If you are interested please leave your name and phone number either at the library or call Donna Seaman at 450 458-5703.

The Write Stuff - Tracey Lindberg


Tracey Lindberg is a Canadian writer and academic, and was the first Canadian Aboriginal woman to complete her graduate law degree at Harvard. She hails from the Kelly Lake Cree Nation community in North Western Alberta where she still lives. She is an award winning academic writer, and teaches Indigenous studies and Indigenous law at Athabasca University and the University of Ottawa.
Birdie, her debut novel, is  darkly comic and moving. At it’s heart it is the story of an extraordinary woman who travels to the deepest part of herself, to find the strength to face the past and build a new life.It is part quest and part travelogue. Birdie has been chosen for Canada Reads 2016 and the library has a copy. Hudson Box Office (HBO) - Shades of Love

Shades of Love is a British TV mini-series based on the novel by Rosamunde Pilcher. Starring Charles Dance and Eileen Atkins, the series is set amidst a famous but struggling Scottish estate in the hands of the Aird family. The Airds have owned the estate for centuries, but grave divisions among the surviving family members, threaten to bring to the fore elements of their ancestral past they would rather forget. Murder Ink - Tony Parsons

Tony Parsons was born in 1953 in Essex. He left school at sixteen and was working at Gordon's Gin Distillery in Islington when he was offered his first job in journalism on the New Musical Express. Since then he has become an award-winning journalist and bestselling novelist whose books have been translated into more than forty languages. His semi-autobiographical novel Man and Boy won the Book of the Year prize. 
The Murder Bag, his first crime novel, features the debut of Detective Max Wolfe. The Library has both this and the follow-up novel The Slaughter Man.
