The War Memorial Library in Hudson is a non-profit registered charity providing a subscription library of printed and digital materials, primarily in the English language, to the residents of Hudson, Quebec and surrounding communities.Operated by volunteers, the Library is self-financing through membership fees, donations and fund raising activities. The Library in turn donates, to local charities, funds in excess of its own needs.The building and the Library serve as a memorial to those in Hudson who served in the Canadian Armed Forces.

The Write Stuff - Lauren Groff

Lauren Groff is the New York Times bestselling author of two novels, The Monsters of Templeton and Arcadia, as well as the celebrated short-story collection Delicate Edible Birds. She graduated from Amherst College and has an MFA in fiction from the University of Wisconsin Madison. Her work has appeared in a number of magazines, including The New Yorker, Harper's, and The Atlantic.
The library has acquired her most recent novel Fates and Furies.  Please use the Suggestion Book at the front desk if you would like to read more of her novels.

Hudson Box Office (HBO) - The Widower


The Widower is a three part drama originally shown on British television. It is based on the crimes of convicted murderer Malcolm Webster. Over a thirteen year period, this seemingly mild-mannered male nurse, set about poisoning and murdering his first wife and attempted to do the same to his second wife. After this he moved on to a further scheme to deceive his then fiancee.The Widower moves between the UK and New Zealand, it stars Reece Shearsmith as Malcolm Webster, and is written by Jeff Pope. Murder Ink - Linda Fairstein

Linda Fairstein was chief of the Sex Crimes Unit of the district attorney’s office in Manhattan for more than two decades and is America’s foremost legal expert on sexual assault and domestic violence. She left the District Attorney's office in 2002, and has continued to consult, write, lecture and serve as a sex crimes expert for a wide variety of print and television media outlets.
Fairstein is also the internationally best-selling author of a series of crime novels featuring Manhattan prosecutor Alexandra Cooper. The library has several of her books including her most recent Devil’s Bridge.
