The War Memorial Library in Hudson is a non-profit registered charity providing a subscription library of printed and digital materials, primarily in the English language, to the residents of Hudson, Quebec and surrounding communities.Operated by volunteers, the Library is self-financing through membership fees, donations and fund raising activities. The Library in turn donates, to local charities, funds in excess of its own needs.The building and the Library serve as a memorial to those in Hudson who served in the Canadian Armed Forces.

The Write Stuff - Aravind Adiga

Aravind Adiga is an Indo-Australian writer and Journalist. He grew up in Bangalore, emigrated to Australia and completed his studies at Columbia and Oxford Universities. His debut novel The White Tiger, won the 2008 Booker prize.The library has just acquired his most recent novel, Selection Day , which is a compelling tale of cricket and corruption in modern day Mumbai. It tells the story of two brothers and their ambitious father, who pushes them to try and make the grade as top cricketers. The issues explored are relevant for other sports too.
