Hudson Box Office (HBO) - Dancing on the Edge

Dancing on the Edge is a British TV Drama series written by Stephen Poliakoff, about a black jazz band based in London during the early 1930s. Made up of talented musicians, the band initially encounters prejudice, but eventually they are recognised by aristocrats and their success spirals. It's a compelling look at race, class and jazz music in pre-war Britain. With an excellent cast including Chiwetal Ejiofor and Jacqueline Bisset, the series was nominated for three Golden Globes. The library has the DVDs.
