The War Memorial Library in Hudson is a non-profit registered charity providing a subscription library of printed and digital materials, primarily in the English language, to the residents of Hudson, Quebec and surrounding communities.Operated by volunteers, the Library is self-financing through membership fees, donations and fund raising activities. The Library in turn donates, to local charities, funds in excess of its own needs.The building and the Library serve as a memorial to those in Hudson who served in the Canadian Armed Forces.

The Write Stuff - Eleanor Catton

Eleanor Catton is a New Zealand author. Catton was born in Canada while her father, a New Zealand graduate, was completing a doctorate at the University of Western Ontario. She lived in Yorkshire until the age of 13, before her family settled in Canterbury, New Zealand. She wrote her first novel, The Rehearsal, as her master's thesis in 2009.  Catton was awarded the 2013 Man Booker Prize for her second novel The Luminaries.
She currently lives in Auckland, New Zealand, with her partner, American expatriate author and poet, Steven Toussaint.
