The War Memorial Library in Hudson is a non-profit registered charity providing a subscription library of printed and digital materials, primarily in the English language, to the residents of Hudson, Quebec and surrounding communities.Operated by volunteers, the Library is self-financing through membership fees, donations and fund raising activities. The Library in turn donates, to local charities, funds in excess of its own needs.The building and the Library serve as a memorial to those in Hudson who served in the Canadian Armed Forces.

Hudson Box Office (HBO) - The French Village

The library has just acquired the first series of Un Village Francais, a French television drama series. It is set in June 1940 in the fictional village of Villeneuve, along the French-Swiss border. The village is thrown into dissary by the occupying German military who quickly take control of all aspects of village life. This is a gripping, historically accurate period drama, exploring resistance and collaboration. From schoolteacher to doctor to businessman to chief of police, the village inhabitants must make tough choices under German rule, when the slightest mistake can have fatal consequences.
