The Write Stuff - Naseem Rakha

Naseem Rahka is a geologist, educator, speaker, and award-winning author and journalist. The library has just acquired her novel The Crying Tree. Set in southern Illinois and central Oregon, it tells the story of a mother who must overcome the hate, grief and secrets that surround the murder of her 15 year old son. And how she defies church and family as she attempts to stop the execution of the man who killed her boy. The Crying Tree has received international acclaim for it's frank examination of crime, punishment, sexual identity and forgiveness, Rahka lives in Oregon with her husband and son. Library - Annual General Meeting

The Annual General Meeting will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, April 25, at 60 Elm, Hudson, Quebec. Library members are welcome to attend to vote for the Board of Directors and to get a progress report on library activities.

Hudson Box Office (HBO) - Delicious

Delicious is a British television drama/black comedy series set in south-east Cornwall about Leo, a celebrity chef. He is married to his beautiful wife Sam and has a successful hotel business, but he is cheating on her with his first wife Gina, from whom he stole many of his recipes. With an excellent cast including Iain Glen as Leo, Emilia Fox as Sam and the wonderful Dawn French as Gina, the library has just acquired the first series. For more details click here.

Murder Ink - Phonse Jessome

Phonse Jessome is an award-winning Canadian Journalist and bestselling author. He has covered some of the biggest stories in Canada and abroad over the past 35 years. His book Murder at McDonald's was lauded as one of Canada's best true crime titles. Somebody's Daughter takes readers inside the deadly world of human trafficking. Jessome is now taking decades of experience covering crime into the field of crime fiction.  Disposable Souls, which the library recently acquired, is the first in this series.
