Naseem Rahka is a geologist, educator, speaker, and award-winning author and journalist. The library has just acquired her novel The Crying Tree. Set in southern Illinois and central Oregon, it tells the story of a mother who must overcome the hate, grief and secrets that surround the murder of her 15 year old son. And how she defies church and family as she attempts to stop the execution of the man who killed her boy.
