Library - Annual General Meeting Postponed

The Annual General Meeting is scheduled to be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, April 22, at 60 Elm, Hudson, Quebec.

Library members are welcome to attend to vote for the Board of Directors and to get a progress report on library activities.

NOTE:  Given the current guidelines issued by the provincial government regarding COVID-19, this meeting may have to be rescheduled.  We will keep you informed of further developments.

April Book Sale

The Write Stuff - Isabella Hammad

Isabella Hammad was born in London and obtained her undergraduate degree in English Language and Literature from Oxford University. She also holds an MFA in fiction. She published her first novel The Parisian in 2019 and the library has just acquired a copy. The novel follows a young Palestinian dreamer, Midhat Kamal,who picks his way across a fractured world, ( just after the first world war) from the shifting politics of the Middle East to the dinner tables of Montpelier.The character of Kamal is based on Hammad's great-grandfather. This is an intensely human story set amidst a global conflict, The Parisian is historical fiction with a remarkable contemporary voice. To visit Hammad online click here

Temporarily Closed

Given the guidelines issued by the provincial government regarding COVID-19, we feel it is prudent for the library to remain closed during this worldwide health crisis.  Being many of our patrons and volunteers are in the at-risk population, it is our social responsibility to do our part to follow the guidelines.

Until we resume regular operating hours, no overdue fines will be charged.

Please note the Bunker will also be closed during this period.  

We will keep you updated on developments as circumstances warrant.   

Hudson Box Office (HBO) - Peaky Blinders

Peaky Blinders is a British period crime television series set in Birmingham, England just after the First World War, and follows the exploits of the Shelby crime family. The family is loosely based on a real 19th century youth gang who were active in the city from the 1890s to the early twentieth century. Peaky Blinders has received praise for it's writing, acting, visuals and stylish cinematography. It won best Drama TV Series at the 2018 Bafta awards. It features a stellar cast including, Cillian Murphy, Helen McCrory and Paul Anderson, and the library has just acquired the first series.For more details click here.
