The Write Stuff - Jessie Burton
Jessie Burton is an English author and actress, who attended the Central School of Speech and Drama and Oxford University. Her first multi-award winning novel The Miniaturist was set in 17th century Amsterdam. The library has a copy of this, and has just acquired her latest novel The Muse. Murder Ink - Harry Dolan
Harry Dolan is the bestselling author of Bad Things Happen (2009), Very Bad Men (2011), and The Last Dead Girl (2014). He graduated
from Colgate University, where he majored in philosophy and studied fiction
writing with the novelist Frederick Busch.

The Write Stuff - Katherina Vermette
Katherina Vermette is a Metis writer from the Metis Nation, Winnipeg. Her first book, North End Love Songs won the Governor General's Literary Award for poetry. The library has just acquired her first novel The Break, which was a finalist for Canada Reads. In a series of shifting narratives, it tells the story of the people connected with a crime (police, family and friends) reported by Stella, a young Metis mother. Hudson Box Office (HBO) - Janet King
Janet King is an Australian TV drama series, created as a spin off from the 2011 legal drama Crownies. It follows the story of a senior crown prosecutor played by Marta Dusseldorp ( A Place to Call Home ). In the first episode King returns from maternity leave to confront a high-profile murder and conspiracy, which will have shocking ramifications throughout the judical system. Murder Ink - Peter Kirby
Peter Kirby was born in Ireland and grew up in South
London. He came to Canada as a cook and quickly came to love Montreal like no
other place. He attended Concordia University at night, and then McGill where he
worked as a breakfast cook from 5.30-11:00 a.m., and then went to law classes.
He now practices international law in one of Canada's largest law firms and in
2012 was recognized by The American
Lawyer as one of Canada's leading 500 lawyers.
His previous books are The Dead of Winter and Vigilante
