Born in Halifax N.S. Amy Jones won the 2006 literacy prize for Short Fiction, and was a finalist for the 2005 Bronwen Wallace award. She now lives in Thunder Bay where she is the associate editor of The Walleye ( Thunder Bay's arts and culture magazine).
The library has a copy of her first novel "We're All in This Together" which tells the story of a dysfunctional family plunged into chaos when the matriach , Kate, survives plummeting over a waterfall in a barrel. It is all captured on a video which goes viral. The novel is funny and heartfelt, and described as a complicated layering of timeshifts and pespectives, as each family member reveals their inner emotions and personal histories.

Hudson Box Office (HBO) - Shetland
Shetland is a BBC Scotland murder mystery series set against the stunning background of the Shetland Islands. It stars Douglas Henshall as Chief Inspector Jimmy Perez, and the series is based on the novels of Ann Cleeves. The Guardian has described it as "a gripping detective story" to rival Wallander. The Write Stuff - Sunjeev Sahota
Sunjeev Sahota was born in Derby, UK in 1981, he's a British-Indian Sikh. He had not read a novel until he was 18, and graduated in Mathematics. His first novel "Ours are the Streets" was published in 2011 to critical acclaim, it's the story of a British Muslim suicide bomber.
The library has a copy of his second book "The Year of the Runaways" which was shortlisted for the 2015 Man Booker prize. It's a bold and original novel about illegal immigration to Britain from India, focusing on four migrant workers in Sheffield.

Murder Ink - David Swinson
David Swinson is a retired police detective, having
served 16 years with the Washington DC Metropolitan Police Department. Before
joining the DC police Swinson was a record store owner in Seal Beach,
California, a punk rock/alternative concert promoter in Long Beach, California,
and a music video producer and independent filmmaker in Los Angeles,
California.
Swinson currently lives in Northern Virginia with his
wife, daughter, bull mastiff, and bearded dragon.
