The War Memorial Library in Hudson is a non-profit registered charity providing a subscription library of printed and digital materials, primarily in the English language, to the residents of Hudson, Quebec and surrounding communities.Operated by volunteers, the Library is self-financing through membership fees, donations and fund raising activities. The Library in turn donates, to local charities, funds in excess of its own needs.The building and the Library serve as a memorial to those in Hudson who served in the Canadian Armed Forces.

The Write Stuff - Bernardine Evaristo

Bernardine Evaristo is a multi-award winning British author whose work spans many genres including novels, poetry, essays, literary criticism and radio and theatre drama. Born in South-East London to a British mother and Nigerian father, she obtained a PHD in Creative Writing from the University of London,and she is Professor of Creative Writing at Brunel University, London. The library has just acquired a copy of her 2019 Booker prize winning novel, Girl, Woman, Other. This is a "fusion fiction" novel which follows the stories of twelve black British woman aged 19-93. They span a variety of cultural backgrounds, sexualities, classes and occupations as they tell the stories of themselves, their families, friends and lovers , across the country and through the years.
