The Write Stuff - Tea Obreht
Tea Obreht was born in Belgrade in 1985 and graduated from the University of Southern California after emigrating to the U.S. She was named by The New Yorker as one of the twenty best American fiction writers under forty. Her award winning first novel The Tiger's Wife was published in 2010. The library has just acquired her second novel Inland. Set in drought-stricken, lawless Arizona in 1893, it tells the story of Nora and Lurie. Nora is waiting for the return of the men in her life, and Lurie is a former outlaw who sets off on a momentous expedition across the west. Obreht lives in New York with her husband and teaches at Hunter College. To visit her online visit here.
