The War Memorial Library in Hudson is a non-profit registered charity providing a subscription library of printed and digital materials, primarily in the English language, to the residents of Hudson, Quebec and surrounding communities.Operated by volunteers, the Library is self-financing through membership fees, donations and fund raising activities. The Library in turn donates, to local charities, funds in excess of its own needs.The building and the Library serve as a memorial to those in Hudson who served in the Canadian Armed Forces.

The Write Stuff - Kenneth Bonert

Kenneth Bonert was was born in Johannesburg in 1972, and he emigrated to Toronto in 1989 with his parents. He studied Journalism at Ryerson University, and went on to work as a reporter for the Globe and Mail. His first award-winning novel The Lion Seeker was published in 2013, and the library has just received a copy of his new novel, The Mandela Plot. Set in South Africa in the late 1980s, as the apartheid regime is coming to an end, it tells the story of a Jewish immigrant family struggling with secrets from the past, as the country is torn apart by political violence.
