The War Memorial Library in Hudson is a non-profit registered charity providing a subscription library of printed and digital materials, primarily in the English language, to the residents of Hudson, Quebec and surrounding communities.Operated by volunteers, the Library is self-financing through membership fees, donations and fund raising activities. The Library in turn donates, to local charities, funds in excess of its own needs.The building and the Library serve as a memorial to those in Hudson who served in the Canadian Armed Forces.

The Write Stuff - Emma Hooper

Raised in Alberta, Canada, Emma Hooper brought her love of music and literature to the UK, where she received a doctorate in Musico-Literary studies at the University of East-Anglia.  She currently lectures at Bath Spa University. 
A musician, Emma performs as the solo artist Waitress for the Bees and plays with a number of bands.
Etta and Otto and Russell and James is her debut novel. 
Hooper lives in Bath, UK, but comes home to Canada to cross-country ski whenever she can.

The Bunker - Skates for Sale!

This coming Saturday September 12th the Bunker will be selling hockey skates ( some brand new!) with a few odds and ends , helmets and pads...save loads!    Also available a large selection of girls and ladies skates.The Library Shop, also known as the Bunker,  is open Saturday mornings, 10am-12 noon.

Hudson Box Office (HBO) - Land Girls

`Land Girls' follows the lives and loves of four girls away from home, doing their bit for Britain in the Women's Land Army. Set on the Hoxley Manor estate, against the backdrop of war-weary Britain in the 1940s, the series depicts how the girls balance their working lives at the run-down pasture farm with the opulent living conditions at the estate. As they adapt to their new surroundings, and knuckle down to some hard work and play, they realise very quickly that their lives will never be the same again.

Murder Ink - John Farrow

John Farrow is the “crime” pseudonym for novelist Trevor Ferguson. He is the author of eleven novels and four plays.  His crime series with Sergeant-Detective Émile Cinq-Mars has been called the best of our time by Booklist in New York, and the best of all time by Die Zeit in Germany. The first novels were published in 17 countries. A new trilogy of Cinq-Mars mysteries was launched in May 2015.  The Storm Murders is the first novel, Seven Days Dead and The Talisman Quarry will follow in 2016/2017.
Farrow teaches creative writing at Concordia University and lives with his wife in Hudson, Quebec.
