One of the masters of crime fiction past away earlier today. Elmore Leonard will be greatly missed by his fans.
He started his writing career with Western short stories and then novels including Hombre and 3.10 to Yuma but when Westerns lost popularity moved on to crime.
Nineteen of his stories hit the silver screen, the most successful were Get Shorty and Out of Sight. To read the New York Times obituary click here .
For aspiring writers Leonard's "Ten Rules of Writing" are a must read, see here.
The library has a good selection of Leonard's work.
