Fred Vargas is the pseudonym of the French historian, archaeologist and writer Frédérique Audoin-Rouzeau who was born in Paris in 1957. Three of her successive crime novels won the International Dagger Awards from the Crime Writers Association.
The stories centre around Parisian Chief Inspector Adamsberg and his team. Adamsberg is an idiosyncratic policeman whose investigations lead to interesting and sometimes amusing conclusions. The library has many of her books in the collection.
