The Write Stuff - Delia Owens

Delia Owens was born in rural Georgia, from an early age she was connected to nature and graduated in zoology from the University of Georgia. In 1974 she moved to Africa with her husband, and lived there for twenty years studying wildlife.  She wrote three award winning books about their time there. The library recently acquired her first novel Where the Crawdads Sing. This New York Times bestselling book is set in rural North Carolina, and follows two timelines, the first is about a young girl growing up in poverty, and the second is a murder investigation. Hudson Box Office (HBO) - Mrs Wilson

Mrs Wilson is a British historical drama miniseries. It stars and is produced by the actress Ruth Wilson who plays her own grandmother. In 1963 Alison Wilson's happy home life is shattered by the sudden death of her husband Alec, a novelist and former MI6 intelligence officer. Everything she knew about her husband quickly unravels when she discovers she wasn't the only Mrs Wilson. The library has just acquired the DVD of this excellent series. For more details click here

Murder Ink - Louisa Luna

Born and raised in San Francisco, Louisa Luna attended college at New York University.   

Brave New Girl was her first novel.  The library has acquired her most recent novel Two Girls Down, the first in the Alice Vega series.  Her follow-up novel in this series is scheduled for release in January 2020.

The Write Stuff - Kate Walbert

Kate Walbert was born in New York City and attained a Master's degree in English from NYU. She has published a short story collection and four award winning novels.The library has just acquired her 2009 novel, A Short History of Women, which was named in the top ten books of that year by The New York Times Book Review. Described as luminous, the novel weaves strands of five lives into a tapestry made from key moments in modern history. The Library also has one of her other novels, His Favorites. Hudson Box Office (HBO) - American Gods

American Gods is an American fantasy drama based on Neil Gaiman's novel of the same name, and developed by Bryan Fuller and Michael Green. Ricky Whittle plays the series' lead Shadow Moon, who meets a strange man named Mr. Wednesday (Ian McShane) after being released from prison, and soon becomes embroiled in a large-scale conflict between the Old Gods and the New Gods, who grow stronger every day. The series has received Emmy and Critic's Choice nominations, and the library has just acquired the first season. For more details click here.

Murder Ink - Alex North

Alex North was born in Leeds, England, where he now lives with his wife and son. The Whisper Man was inspired by North's own little boy, who mentioned one day that he was playing with "the boy in the floor."
