The War Memorial Library in Hudson is a non-profit registered charity providing a subscription library of printed and digital materials, primarily in the English language, to the residents of Hudson, Quebec and surrounding communities.Operated by volunteers, the Library is self-financing through membership fees, donations and fund raising activities. The Library in turn donates, to local charities, funds in excess of its own needs.The building and the Library serve as a memorial to those in Hudson who served in the Canadian Armed Forces.

The Write Stuff - Kevin Kwan

Kevin Kwan was born and raised in Singapore, and moved to the U.S. when he was eleven. He obtained a degree in Creative Writing from the University of Houston, before moving to Manhattan to pursue fine arts. He set up a successful company producing high quality visuals for clients, such as MOMA and the New York Times. Throughout his career he never lost his passion for books, and his critically acclaimed novel Crazy Rich Asians,came out in 2013 and became a bestseller. This outrageously funny novel tells the story of three super rich pedigreed Chinese families. It is currently being made into a feature film. Hudson Box Office (HBO) - Reign

Reign is an American historical, fantasy, romance TV series about Mary, Queen of Scots, created by Stephanie Sengupta and Laurie McCarthy. The first season sees Mary travelling to France to marry Prince Francis, in order to secure Scotland's strategic alliance with France. She has been engaged to him since she was six. The match isn't signed and sealed however, but relies on politics, religion and secret agendas, rather than affairs of the heart. Murder Ink - Maureen Jennings

Born in England, Maureen Jennings emigrated to Canada as a teenager. She attended the University of Windsor where she attained a BA in philosophy and psychology. Jennings is best known as the author of the Detective Murdoch series, which has been turned into a television series, Murdoch Mysteries, now shown around the world. The Detective Inspector Tom Tyler series, set in World War II-era England, got off to a spectacular start with Season of Darkness, followed by Beware This Boy and No Known Grave.  The Library has these novels and acquired her most recent Dead Ground in Between.
