The War Memorial Library in Hudson is a non-profit registered charity providing a subscription library of printed and digital materials, primarily in the English language, to the residents of Hudson, Quebec and surrounding communities.Operated by volunteers, the Library is self-financing through membership fees, donations and fund raising activities. The Library in turn donates, to local charities, funds in excess of its own needs.The building and the Library serve as a memorial to those in Hudson who served in the Canadian Armed Forces.

The Write Stuff - Lori Lansens

Lori Lansens was a successful screenwriter before she burst onto the literary scene in 2002 with her first novel Rush Home Road. Translated into 12 languages and published in 15 countries, Rush Home Road, received rave reviews around the world. Her follow-up novel, The Girls, was an international success as well; rights were sold in 20 territories.  Her third novel, The Wife’s Tale, is currently in development as a feature film.  The Library has her collection, including her fourth and most recent novel The Mountain Story.
Born and raised in Chatham, Ontario, Lori Lansens now makes her home in the Santa Monica Mountains with her husband and two children.  Click here to visit her website.

Hudson Box Office (HBO) - Borgen

Denmark s blockbuster political drama, Borgen ( The Castle ) explores the insular world of high-stakes Danish politics and the press corps that covers it in instantaneous, relentless news cycles. Birgitte Nyborg becomes Prime Minister of Denmark through a political fluke and has to learn the ways of power, quickly. She s an altruistic public servant in an old boys club and must master the art of the deal overnight, manage her image and understand that she has advisors but no real friends. She also must perform the impossible juggling act of maintaining a family life while serving as Denmark s first female Prime Minister.

Murder Ink - Susan Crawford

Susan Crawford grew up in Miami, Florida, and graduated from the University of Miami. She later moved to New York City and then Boston before settling in Atlanta to raise three daughters and work in the field of adult education. A member of the Atlanta Writers' Club and the Village Writers, she teaches at Georgia Piedmont Technical College and dabbles in local politics.  The Pocket Wife is her debut novel which the Library recently acquired.
