Sally Rooney was born and brought up in
Castlebar, Ireland and studied English and American Literature at
Trinity College, Dublin. Her debut novel
Conversations with Friends was published in 2017, and the library has just acquired her latest novel
Normal People. Connell and Marianne are two very different teenagers who go to Trinity College, and Marianne although the quieter of the two, adjusts to unversity life easier. The novel explores class, first love and the complexities of family and friendships.
Normal People was nominated for the 2018
Man Booker Prize and won Irish Novel of the Year, the same year. For more details click
