The Write Stuff - Elizabeth Strout

Elizabeth Strout is an American author of fiction. She was born in Portland, Maine, and raised in small towns in Maine and New Hampshire.  It took her almost seven years to write her first novel, Amy and Isabelle, which was published in 1998 to much critical acclaim.  In 2009 Strout was honored with a Pulitzer Prize for Fiction for Olive Kitteridge.  Strout draws readers into the details of ordinary life in a way that makes it extraordinary. 
She is married and divides her time between New York and Maine.
